Missionary post

I am over-whelmed with a deep sense of gratitude and humility. Today was such a wonderful day. Two of the people I work with and my room-mate were eager to go to church with me today. Although I was excited for the missionary opportunity I have to admit I was nervous. Could they sit through all three hours? Would people be friendly? Would they feel the spirit? Would they understand what was being taught? For the last few days I was spending a great deal on my knees in prayer asking the Lord that sunday would go well, that their hearts would soften so they could feel the Spirit.

Today couldn't have gone any better. During sacrament one of my friends asked to read my Book of Mormon. There he sat along side of me turning the pages and I just prayed that he would get something out of it. The speakers in sacrament did such a great job conveying principles of faith and repentance.

As we were getting ready for sunday school to start I went to the bathroom. On the way out I ran into one of the missionaries Elder Aru, and I told him how I had brought friends of mine to church today who weren't members and his face just lit up. It brought me so much joy to see that eagerness to teach. He came into sunday school with me and sat next to one of my friends. It was amusing to see the look on my friends faces as I walked in with a missionary (probably thinking I was bringing in the big guns to convert them :p )

When Priesthood and Relief Society came, the guys stayed downstairs with my friends and my room-mate came with me. Apparently Priesthood went really well, a group of great guys from BYU sat by my friends and were very kind and welcoming. The guys enjoyed the lesson and the new friends they made. My room-mate liked how we are so friendly in our church. She pointed out that Mormons are genuinely good people who are so happy. We had some great discussions after church and I was so happy to share something that is of so much value to me and that I know to be true.
